A walk around the native plant landscaping in the midday heat at Audubon House did not reveal many insects out and about except for a few Soldier Beetles going after the nectar and pollen on the Dune Sunflowers. Despite their rugged appearance Soldier Beetles are important pollinators for Florida’s native plants. A slight afternoon breeze kept the flower swaying back and forth hindering a sharp capture.
