Morning Hawk

A hawk in the old oak trees in front of Audubon House greeted me during my early morning arrival at the office.

The hawk seemed mesmerized by the raucous calls of the Catbirds in the thick undergrowth below.

No doubt the hawk was hoping one of the Catbirds would be foolish enough to become breakfast.

The arrival of a little dog and its owner to the parking lot was too much for the hawk . . .

. . . who took wing to find a new hunting ground . . .

. . . in the oak trees across the street in the Oslo Riverfront Conservation Area.
