SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launched a Dragon spacecraft to low-Earth orbit to deliver cargo to and from the International Space Station for NASA from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center at 12:31 p.m. on 14 August 2017. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed at SpaceX’s Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida approximately eight minutes after launch. The image shows the first stage falling just prior to commencing the landing burn to place it gently atop LZ-1.
