This White Ibis foraging at Cape Canaveral was the focus of a lot of photographic attention while SpaceX struggled to get its Falcon 9 rocket off the ground with a payload of six Orbcomm satellites. Alas, the Falcon was not to fly this day due to technical problems with the second stage, though the weather cleared up beautifully after an afternoon of storms that would have made for a very picturesque pre-sunset launch. The wait continues as SpaceX works through the problem.
