Very early morning Atlas V launch

Atlas V launching AEHF-3

Atlas V launching AEHF-3

Out on the beach with some very dynamic weather threatening rain but finally clearing out just enough to allow for this time exposure of a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket carrying the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF-3) military communications satellite into orbit at 4:10 a.m. on 18 September 2013 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. This view was taken just south of Sebastian Inlet State Park from the backyard of Janice Broda and Bob Bruce’s seaside home. I have to thank them for allowing my dog, Sam, and I to poke around their backyard and on the beach for over two hours so early in the morning. The other exciting thing to happen that night besides the launch was seeing the bat flying around us lit up by the light of the full moon. Visit my rocket launch archive for more.
