Remembering the visit of a lone Blue Angel to Vero Beach back in November 2015.
The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron sent a Boeing F/A 18 Hornet piloted by Lieutenant Tyler Davies and Captain Corrie Mays to Vero Beach on 23 November 2015 to scout conditions and meet with local officials concerning the upcoming performance by the Blue Angels at the Vero Beach Air Show coming in June 2016.
Flying from their base at Naval Air Station Pensacola, the F/A 18 Hornet was overhead at the Vero Beach Municipal Airport promptly at 8:50 a.m.
The Hornet made one pass over the airport.
Making a left hand turn, the jet circled around prior to landing.
A group from Flight Safety came out to watch the Blue Angels go by.
Capt. Mays and Lt. Davies happily acknowledged the crowd at the airport to greet them.
The jet taxied out of sight behind a cluster of hangers under the watchful eyes of a Vero Beach Police officer.
Their work in Vero Beach done, the Blue Angels blasted down the runway shortly after 1:30 p.m. to head back to NAS Pensacola.
Liftoff!
Going, going, gone! The Blue Angels disappear into the blue sky leaving a lot of excitement in their wake in anticipation of the Vero Beach Air Show in June 2016.
