The Moon and Mars came together with the Moon moving between Mars & the Earth for over an hour in the early morning hours of 31 January 2023. Mars is past opposition now so it was not very big but it was still an interesting occultation event as they always are. Additionally, though the sky was clear, the seeing was abysmal so fine details were lost, especially in my primitive astrophotography attempts from the backyard.
I missed Mars coming out from beyond the Moon because I lost track of time while playing with Lucy the dog. By the time I got on the ball, Mars was already clear of the Moon with the two separating fast.
