REWIND: Holidays In Space

Remembering a Holiday visit to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex back in December 2013.

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is ready for the holidays as we found out during a visit on 23 December 2013.
The NASA logo at the entrance has been modified a bit to look like a giant Christmas tree ornament.
I was happy to play the role of unofficial tour guide on our visit for Dr. Richard Baker, Susan Boyd, Dr. Juanita Baker, Dr. Brenda Baker, Erik Liu, Dr. Andrew Liu, and Kira Liu. Andy is a research scientist with the Man Vehicle Laboratory at MIT and works with astronauts. Check out his website to learn more.
An exhibit of space toys over the years displayed this “Magic Outer Space Cape” that features a fine print disclaimer that I’ve arrowed and enlarged. The disclaimer inadvertently becomes the best thing about the cape.
I need to start saving for this trip. This bank would definitely help.
Tin toys imaginatively representing Gemini and Mercury spacecraft.
At sunset we traveled down Bio Lab Road to see what wildlife might be about. Not much, as it turned out. A Great Blue Heron lit by the last golden rays of the setting Sun.
A grainy image of a Roseate Spoonbill. I had to dial the ISO up quite high to catch this guy in the fading light.
