A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket launched the sixth Space Based Infrared System Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (SBIRS GEO 6) missile detection and early warning satellite for the U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 6:29 a.m. on 4 August 2022. The Atlas V launched in the 421 configuration with a 4-meter fairing, two solid rocket boosters, and a one engine Centaur second stage.
