The Orbiter Discovery after its transition to retirement in 2012 parked in one of the Vehicle Assembly Building high bays at Kennedy Space Center.  Discovery awaits the 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft to wing it away to its final home at the National Air and Space Museum. The bus alongside Discovery was used to transport the Shuttle astronauts to the launch pad.
