The Royal Park Arcade, AKA Parkway Plaza, is one of a number of rare buildings from the past to survive the wrecking ball in Vero Beach. Located between the old historic downtown and the Miracle Mile shopping complex, the Royal Park Arcade was built in 1925-26 in a late 19th & early 20th Century Mediterranean revival architectural style. Today it houses a couple of restaurants and some empty commercial space downstairs, along with apartments upstairs. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. The trend of the traffic flow on the adjoining US-1 is to pass the building by as seen in this time exposure image.
