Capitalizing on the popularity of Doctor Who in the 1960s, two movie versions, Dr. Who and the Daleks (1965) and Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. (1966) were produced starring Peter Cushing as the Doctor.  In the first film, the Doctor and his companions travel to Skaro, home planet of the Daleks and the Thals, which was devastated years before by an atomic war.  To emphasize the alienness of another world, the filmmakers lit the Skaro forest with different colored lights making for a very dramatic and effectively strange mise en scène.   I was able to crudely replicate the Skaro lighting without the subtleties in this image taken in the woods at South ORCA behind Audubon House.
