A Bald Eagle nest conveniently placed in a wooded lot atop a pine tree just a few feet from a shopping center parking lot provides exceptional views of these regal birds. A late afternoon visit came to a disappointing photographic conclusion when clouds moved in to obscure the Sun as it dipped toward the horizon. Naturally, this corresponded with a lot of activity around the nest, which resulted in having to deal with the low light as the birds flew around the nest in a last flight before night fall and settling down on the eggs.
As with all raptors, their size denotes their sex. The male is at left, the larger female at right.
On the eggs for the night as the sun sets.
