SBIRS GEO Flight 4


A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V 411 rocket launched the fourth Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) satellite to geosynchronous transfer orbit from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 7:48 p.m. on 19 January 2018.

The Space Based Infrared System is considered one of the nation’s highest priority space programs and is designed to provide global, persistent, infrared surveillance capabilities to meet 21st Century demands in four national security mission areas. Click for more photos and info.
