Scenes from the World Showcase Italy Pavilion at Disney World’s EPCOT.
The Italy Pavilion is a mixture of architectural styles from throughout Italian history. All of it quite striking.
A replica of the Doge’s Palace in Venice where the original began initial construction in the 1300s.
It is all in the detail.
A replica of the St. Mark’s Campanile located in Venice. The original bell tower was built in the 1500s but had to be rebuilt in the early 1900s after the tower collapsed.
The Neptune Fountain is suggestive of the Trevi Fountain built in the 1700s in Rome. The Fountain is also an official designated smoking area at EPCOT.
A small network of canals reminiscent of those in Venice, complete with a gondola, front the Italy Pavilion. One of the rat’s from Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak game was easily viewable in the gondola, appropriately with an eggplant.
