JCSAT-14 SpaceX Falcon 9 first stage returns to Port Canaveral

The SpaceX Falcon 9 first stage that helped launch JCSAT-14 returned to Port Canaveral on 9 May 2016 around 10:30 p.m. but I did not get to see it until the afternoon of the next day. Though the first stage shows signs of the high heating and stresses it encountered on its long fall through the atmosphere it looks overall to be in good shape. In this image the first stage has already been moved onshore from the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship docked just to the left of the booster. It was atop this barge that the first stage had to make a dramatic, high energy, pinpoint landing out in the Atlantic Ocean.
