Note the large mass of orange pollen attached to this honey bee’s hind leg found foraging at the Oslo Riverfront Conservation Area. This is the pollen basket, or corbicula, a small hollow surrounded by stiff hairs in which the bee can amass a load of pollen for return to the hive.
