Images of the total lunar eclipse that occurred during the early morning hours of 14 March 2025 as the Moon moved through the Earth’s shadow. My images capture the event from around 1:00 a.m. to around 5:00 a.m. on an exceptionally clear night as seen from the backyard.
The Moon turns red during totality as only light filtering through the Earth’s atmosphere illuminates the Moon with red dominating.
Beautiful but long night ends as the Moon comes out of the Earth’s shadow.
