On the anniversary of the first moon walk carried out by the Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on 20 July 1969, here is a view of the Moon Tree Garden at the Apollo-Saturn V Center at Kennedy Space Center. Besides the statue featuring the three Apollo 11 astronauts – Michael Collins stayed in orbit aboard the Command Module – the garden is ringed by trees that are descendants of the original trees grown from seeds carried to the Moon on Apollo 14 by astronaut Stuart Roosa.
