Remembering an encounter with a Rat Snake one late night in May 2016.
A Yellow Rat Snake surprised Janice Broda while she was working at the plant stand in her yard the other night. While Janice might have moved at lightning speed away from the slithery guest, the Rat Snake took its time meandering off the stand and getting along on its way. The Rat Snake comes in various colorations and scale patterning and is a fairly common, non-venomous Florida snake.
