A time exposure shows the launch arcing over Port Canaveral’s Exploration Tower and the twin landing burns of the boosters at Landing Zones 1 & 2 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Base.

A SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket launched the Hughes Jupiter-3 Echostar XXIV mission to a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center at 11:04 p.m. on 28 July 2023. Following stage separation, Falcon Heavy’s two side boosters landed on SpaceX’s Landing Zones 1 and 2 (LZ-1 and LZ-2) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

  1. Great streak shot! Have you heard anything about a possible re-opening date of Exploration Tower? It’s been closed for a “maintenance project” since 2020, and the Spring 2023 reopening date has sailed on by……

    • I am looking forward to when it opens up again, too. The observation deck is a great place to photograph rocket launches. I have not heard when it is reopening.
