Electric Relic Tour: 1 of 5

A year ago I was fortunate enough to tour the old Vero Beach Municipal Power Plant as part of a public tour program of the Three Corners Committee, the group charged by the City of Vero Beach to find a new use for the decommissioned building and its land.  Those interested in Urban Exploration and industrial landscapes, such as myself, would have a field day in there like I did.  Limited to just a handheld DSLR on this visit, I would like to return to the building someday and shoot with proper equipment, preferably at night, including a tripod and lights to truly capture the mood the place.

Since it is doubtful that a night visit will ever take place, I present these extensive photos of the tour over the next five days to give an impression of the place in its Borg-like immensity.

A local nickname for the power plant is “Big Blue” because of its size and color.

More of the Electric Relic Tour tomorrow – 2 of 5
