The Rainbow Tree

A colorful, fast-growing, ornamental tree that thrives in wet, frost-free areas, this native of Asian-Pacific islands goes by the name of rainbow eucalyptus, Mindanao gum, or rainbow gum. Its multicolored bark is its greatest attraction for the neighborhood yard. This specimen at McKee Botanical Garden is not as colorful as it could be yet but that does not stop people from leaving graffiti on its trunk.
