A bee, slightly blurred from her unexpectedly fast liftoff, works the flowers along the side of Oslo Road in the Oslo Riverfront Conservation Area. Note the large mass of orange pollen affixed to the pollen basket alongside her leg. As I later learned, this is called her corbicula for all those with a more formal entomology bent. She will carry the full baskets back to the hive where the pollen will be used to make bee bread to feed bee larvae and workers. There is always something going on behind the scenes in nature.
