Dominating the center of historic Fellsmere along with the Fellsmere Public School building is the water tower with “Welcome to Fellsmere” written in big letters pointed toward the main road into town. Water towers of this design used to be iconic landmarks in towns across Florida. Newer tower designs, and water systems that don’t need a tower at all, are slowly pushing this old friend into the history books. See it in Fellsmere while you can.
