The latest member of the household is Mara, a little refugee from the faraway streets of Miami, hence her clipped ear, with an exotic look that led her to be named for the wife of Kang, commander of a Klingon battle cruiser on which she also serves. Mara persuades her husband to listen to Kirk’s plea to stop fighting and to, instead, unite against a common foe in the Original Series Star Trek episode Day of the Dove. My Mara just likes a lot of affectionate attention and to nuzzle with a plastic Tyrannosaurus rex.
