The Bensen House built in 1916 in Grant, Florida along the banks of the Indian River Lagoon is open periodically by the Grant Historical Society so people can get a glimpse into an earlier age. The stories of the various persons connected to the house include industrious, hardworking people interested in education and the community but whose lives were touched by murder, madness, and disease over the years. So much for the myth of simpler times in the pioneer days.
