A brief moment of golden light suffuses the landscape during a rainstorm at sunset in this view looking across the Indian River Lagoon toward Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge. Look carefully. That black speck atop a snag in the distance is an Osprey. A hawk enamored of fish, which it eats to the exclusion of almost anything else. Ospreys at the Refuge and I go back a long way together.
