SpaceX Falcon 9 ready to fly

The Scrub-Jay project and work have prevented regular postings lately. One thing that can’t be ignored is Monday’s (25 November 2013) attempt by SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corp.) to launch their enhanced Falcon 9 rocket with extended fuel tanks and upgraded engines in its first ever flight from Cape Canaveral following a slightly rocky inaugural launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base back on 29 September 2013. The image shows the SpaceX launch control center at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, which should be alive with activity over the next couple of days in support of the launch that will carry a commercial communications satellite (SES 8) to geostationary orbit. Here’s hoping for clear skies to photograph the launch!
